The NCAA Men and the NCAA Women will meet for the first time in five years in the Final Four on Sunday night.
The two-game, three-team field will be seeded by the national title and will be played at the Palestra, home of the New York Knicks.
The men will be led by the Big Ten champion Ohio State Buckeyes, while the women will be aided by the NCAA Tournament runner-up Michigan State Spartans.
This will be the third meeting between the teams since the 2012 Final Four.
The Spartans were victorious in last year’s Final 4, while Ohio State beat Michigan in last week’s game.
The last meeting between these two teams was in 2010, with the Buckeyes beating the Spartans 83-68.
Ohio State will be coached by former Ohio State coach Tom Izzo, who also has a lengthy coaching resume.
The Buckeyes will play for their third national championship in four seasons, and the first since 2013.
They also have one more NCAA Tournament berth on the line in 2020.
Michigan State, which will play host to the Big East champion Maryland Terrapins in the NCAA Championship, will be playing for their first national title in the Big Eight, since the Spartans won it in 2008.
The Wolverines will also be looking to extend their NCAA Tournament streak to 12 seasons when they take on Indiana on Sunday.
Indiana and Maryland are both the conference’s top teams and have a combined 58 wins.
This is the second meeting between both teams this season, with Maryland winning 94-69 on March 12 in Indianapolis.
Iowa State will play a game against the Big 12 champion Texas Longhorns, while Baylor and TCU will play one more game before the season begins.
Texas will host Kansas on Monday night, while Kansas State hosts Nebraska on Tuesday.
The Big Ten champions will play against the second-ranked Kentucky Wildcats, while Penn State and Michigan will play two more games before the start of the Big 16 tournament.
Wisconsin will be facing the second ranked Maryland Terps on Tuesday night, and Purdue and Northwestern will play four more games after that.
This is the first meeting between Indiana and Maryland since the 2013 Final Four, when the Buckeye beat the Terrapin to advance to the Final Eight.
Both teams have won their last two meetings.
Penn State and Northwestern are coming off back-to-back wins against the Ohio State team.
Kentucky and Michigan State are two of just two teams to play in the same Final Four since the 2000 Final Four team.
Penn State won that game 87-68, while Michigan State won 84-68 on March 5, 2011.
Ohio State won its last three games at home, and both teams have played in Indianapolis since the start, with Penn State winning two of those games to move to 1-1 in the conference standings.
Kansas and Iowa State are the only teams to have played each other in a Final Four in the last five years.
Louisville and Wichita State are one of just four teams to reach the Final Fours for the third time in four years.
The other two were North Carolina and Duke, both of whom made it to the Sweet 16.
Minnesota and Arizona are the other two teams that have made it in consecutive years, and Louisville and Arizona were two of the four teams in the ACC to make it to a Final FOUR in the 2013-14 season.
There are five teams in college basketball history to have reached the Final Six in consecutive seasons, but only three of those have made the NCAA Finals.
In all, there have been nine Final Four appearances by at least one team since the last time a team made it from the NCAA Final Four to the NCAA Sweet 16, which was in 2015.
